Autumn Shift
During the month of September, we were in residence at the off-the-grid Sable Project: boondocking, art-making, and working to assist Fat Dragon Farm in a community of six artists. No internet, no cell, and enough solar powered electricity to (sometimes) power the string lights in the communal kitchen. Our portable solar panel kept our digital creative gear charged. We worked outside on-site on multiple projects. The tailgate of our truck served as editing bay and our screen tent doubled as our studio and a place to dry our clothes.

To Buckwheat:
Seeded as cultivated crop, may you also find your way to both wild and wasted places. As cultivated cover crop, may you feed the soil that feeds the people. May you tenderly grow to take the place of that which shouldn’t. And at cold weather, may you return to the soil. - Mallory Craig

It’s no secret,
But it’s safe, Intentional space, Special meaning. Sturdy. |
Waves crashing,
Foaming green Undulatory mounds. A celebratory processional. Joyous laughter Echoes down. |
here where the stream pools glossy at my feet
where the woods come to harmonize with themself I learn how little it takes to hold the sustenance and dissolution sitting in a peace that is thunderous and pondering the death of all things |
