SiteWorks is a festival of site-specific dances performed July 8, 9, 15, 16 & 20 2006 at the Museum of Glass’s outdoor plazas, reflecting pools, and grand stairway overlooking the beautiful Thea Foss Waterway in Tacoma. Programming was determined through juried review of proposals submitted by regional choreographers. Artists will include Callous Physical Theatre, BQ dance, Walrus Dance Company, NorthWest Dance Syndrome, New Vision Dance Company, the elementary school Elk Plain Dance Ensemble directed by Krissa Englebright, Vanessa DeWolf, Lisa Clinton, Stephanie Kriege, and Katharine M. Stricker.
Performances will include dance theatre; spoken word; live percussion; movement games; manipulation of fabric and water; contact improvisation; vertical dance; performance art; pedestrian movement; explorations of spatial relations; athletic dance; rollerblading; and a “fish processional” of fish on a stick created by regional visual artists. All performances are free and open to the public.
