Bridget Close

Bridget Close is a cross-disciplinary maker. Her creative practice is ecocentric (if not egocentric), rooted in the investigation of her-self and her-body in relation to the body of earth and Its inhabitants. She works with Earth to understand Earth, self, other and other selves. She welcomes multiple, and uses multiple mediums, up-cycling materials, writing, painting, improv, dancing, acting, vocalizing, digital applications, whatever the meaning of the work calls for. She holds an M.F.A in Performance and Choreography earned at FSU. She is currently investigating repeating concepts that continue to arrive in her embodied explorations with nature: Nature VS Nurture, Belonging/Not Belonging, Individual/Multiple, Time/Mortality. DAKTYLOI


DAKTYLOI is an ongoing sound design project from Evan Rossi. DAKTYLOI works are primarily audio collage/concrete music pieces assembled from field recordings, live instrumentation and manipulation of magnetic audio tape. The individual materials that comprise these live assemblages are gathered and arranged deliberately under a theme, but performed in a live setting with a strong focus on accidentalism & improvisation. Evan has been making his "Dumb Tape Music" for over 25 years, though not much has ever been made publicly available. The latest cycle of works can be found on Soundcloud.com/daktyloi.



“Very Very INTERESTING to watch is the video that actually did upload before the virus or whatever got to it. The effect of decaying and melting away at the end was not a choice me or Evan made... interesting addition to the work! LOL, looks like we had an additional A.I.collaborator. It’s funny, this year has taught me so many lessons. I have been struggling knowing when to stop, in my art and in my life, they are intertwined. The seeping reality that I will not be-able to send the final product as I saw fit and must let go of part of it. I have no choice. Unless I can recover it. But there is no time. How ironic. I must accept, if not celebrate that I, for once, did not make the decision to end it that way. Some-thing entered my computer and made the decision for me. And yet, I still seek and find different routes....” -Bridget Close 11.24.2020.

Another piece of Bridget’s BRUNE 2020 Process comes to you, the audience, in the form of a letter and invitation. (On the back of each slip of paper, she drew the Runes that guided her in this project.

She works with ideas found in the
observation of nature. For example in observing various plants,

“I see it, does it see me?”
“Do I Belong here?”
“How do My surroundings effect me?” "How do I effect my surroundings?”
“How does it grow?”
"How do I grow?.

Past works were driven by the desire to understand the performative nature of human emotion and its sedimentation
into Identity.

I created character memes and motifs where the self was an active agent.

She creates new realms of reality
where difficult questions and situations that are of this world can be explored by being transported into alternative worlds.
