Lanterns
|
We collected, dried and pressed local flora throughout the year which we utilized to make lanterns. At Florida State University’s Department of Art FabLab Facility for Arts Research (FAR) we used the laser cutter to fabricate over 130 hardboard lantern "blanks" to illuminate paper, wax paper,or vellum panels with dried flora and photos of bird feathers. Additional paper, wax paper and/or cheese cloth cylindrical and globe lanterns as well as paper or silk organza panels with large elephant ear leafs were fabricated for a total of 208 luminaries
