Through collaborative writing sessions reminiscent of the Surrealist game Exquisite Corpse, we played with the words "Cage", "Event", "Re" and "Happening" to create the content for Cagevent 2{020}2. Following John Cage’s use of chance operations and time brackets to structure theatrical scores, determinately timed scores of spoken, sound, and action events indeterminately performed by collaborating artists. A playful event of discrete and overlapping timed events within the duration of 00:00-60:00 (60 minutes). The first iteration of Cagevent: Sometimes it works, Sometimes it doesn’t (2012) was performed in a converted shipping container placed in a busy shopping district for the Kontaining Festival in Helsinki, Finland.
